Activists who like using the phrase "tone deaf" calling child rapist a hero

Maybe because irony, the appreciation thereof, and self-awareness are all deader than a dodo’s doorknob. Or maybe it’s racist to appreciate irony and recognize how inconsistencies in your arguments can be used against what you said like, five seconds ago. There are so many racist things right now and all we have to do in order to destroy and desecrate beloved cultural artifacts and events is to call them racist.

Now I don’t believe in group identity and so I certainly don’t believe that one person of a political bent saying one crazy thing represents all likeminded people. But I do like to make jokes so we’re going to use group identity to mine this horrific situation for some comedic gold. Stop reading now if you’re uncomfortable with that exercise. If you can’t read, it’s also a good time to stop reading and learn to read.

So feminists and leftists like to call out all people who are wrong about everything when they fail to read the room and say something tone deaf. At the height of the #Metoo movement it was becoming evidently clear that tipping a waitress more than the customary 15% constituted rape, as did tipping her not enough. Matt Damon got in front of a camera and basically Matt Damon-ed the situation by saying something really stupid. (Sniff) I love that little guy so much. He’s given me ample fodder for content.

He said guys who don’t assault women should be commended for their nobility, or some such nonsense. Spotting the opportunity to make people go “Oh yeah, I remember her”, his former costar and erstwhile lover (do two unbearable people in a relationship cancel each other out like acids and bases?); Minnie Driver raked him through the Twitter coals, accused him of being tone deaf, and said you don’t get an award for being a decent, non-handsy person. Other feminists piled on—a rare occasion that I agree with the screeching Twitter harpies.

Scroll this and other social media outlets enough, you’ll find that one issue conservatives and liberals agree upon is they don’t get all weepy when a pedophile, rapist, molester, or otherwise sexually creepy person loses their life. Many of them use their keyboards to proclaim the fact that they’d kill a sexual predator who came near them or their children. Well, throw a wedge issue about BLM, gun rights, and debate over anything even remotely Republican into the mix and all of a sudden, formerly alive pedophiles become martyrs and saints. Call it the Church of the Progressive’s deathbed confession and move on with your life, I guess.

I know it’s not considered couth to speak ill of the dead, but my faith has no such commandment, so here we go. Joseph Rosenbaum; a convicted child rapist is being hailed as a hero. Someone please keep an eye on me. I’m liable to stick my head in a microwave trying to make sense of this. I guess when a despicable person makes immoral choices their whole lives but is on the righteous side of a BLM riot, they’re redeemed and worthy of a statue made from the melted steel which formerly comprised the torn-down statue of some historical racist.

In a precognitive attempt to make the left’s hypocrisy complete, Rosenbaum was caught on camera shouting “shoot me, nigga”. Let me repeat myself for dramatic emphasis and vamping purposes. A child rapist who shouts the n-word is a hero worthy of all the lauding we can muster, along with cutesy nicknames from The Hulk like “JoJo”. I’d like to see beloved actor Mark Ruffalo’s list of crossed out nicknames before he landed on JoJo. Wonder if The Royal Rosenbaums, Joey the Friendly and Misunderstood Creep, The Unstoppable Seph-Baum, Jo-Rose-from-the-Grave-to-Punish-Sinners-and-Chew-Bubblegum (you know the rest), made the cut.

Now I’ve argued before that in the whole Kenosha cluster, there’s not a hard line of demarcation, morally speaking. There’s a lot of wrong to be puffed-puffed-and-passed around. I refuse to call this little trigger-happy tyke a hero. Kyle and his mother take this year’s trophy for redneck judgment and decision making skills. But can we talk about the fact that he shot three BLM protestors, and the three people shot all had criminal records? One of them, shall we say, not so much of an easy time being kind and gentle to women? That’s three-for-three. MLB batters would kill their mother’s other children for a 1.000 batting average. Are the fish in this particular barrel expert-level when it comes to jumping at bullets?

Are bad life choices required or just preferred experience when submitting your BLM resume? Is the natural law concrete and immovable, or do they take the Pirates of the Caribbean attitude and file legislation against hurting others as guidelines? Are protests a pretext for networking and making criminal connections, or is that just a side benefit to a Molotov Cocktail and graffiti-fueled evening? Are these people out causing a ruckus on a weeknight because their records preclude them from getting high paying jobs so they just gave up professionally and decided to have a good time, because…racism?

Talk about tone deaf! That descriptor is usually applied when racist and sexist issues are being discussed but I’m claiming it and expanding the meaning to include canonizing child rapists. Shouldn’t even have to be said but here we are. Has the political left ever met itself? Does their hypocrisy know no bounds, or is there a measurable end to it, albeit far out of eyesight? Do they even hear themselves when they codify very bad people in their ever-expanding draft of “that’s a really odd choice” saints? Are reality and big moral issues firm and unmoving, or did Bizarro World get all mood-lighting-and-Barry White with the Upside Down while the Sunken Place and Twilight Zone gave each other handy’s in the closet as the Negative Zone begged to get in on the action? The Bible has something to say about woe coming upon a nation which calls good evil and evil good, but that’s rapidly becoming an invalid form of debate, so I’ll spare you.

Hey there, beloved reader! Don’t stop reading yet. I enjoy writing and creating content for you. Recently, I took on the Herculean task of fixing America and wrote a book on the subject; the very literal-titled “I’ll Fix America Tonight”. There is a a link where you can conveniently add the book to your Amazon cart (if you’re flush with about $20 in cash right now) or your wish list (if around $20 in cash is a little too much right now, but hypothetically not too much in the near future). Buy it, and help end poverty (namely my poverty). Thanks for reading!
